OUGD504- Final Concept

I intent to create a bespoke book that relates to the more 'hands-on' methods of printing. Through personal investigation I recognised the best way to learn the processes is through having a ago yourself. This helped me to understand the processes and gave me the idea to create a book that the audience can refer to throughout university that explains and guides the audience through the printing process to help make the experience as stress free as possible.

I am aiming my book at students that like to get their hands dirty and that would like to know more about the processes. The students will be at college level that are progressing onto University so their knowledge will be vague, this will inform the content and tone of voice.

The tone of voice will need to be friendly and understandable to aid in making the experience as simple as possible. After conducting a survey with college level students I now know what processes they would be interested in:

-Screen print

-Letterpress

-Emboss/Deboss

-Lino-cut

-Block printing

Method of Delivery

The book will have an introduction to each process with subsections with more technical details, followed by a removable step by step guide that they can take with them when trying out the processes. This means they can leave the book at home so it doesn't get damaged.

Considerations

-Easy to understand and navigate when reading
-Long lasting bind as it will be a one off product thats built to last e.g. present
